Flowers outvalue all the utilities of the world – Ralph Waldo Emerson

By |August 17th, 2015|

Flowers… are a proud assertion that a ray of beauty outvalues all the utilities of the world. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson, 1844

It is almost springtime here in Australia and I have just about finished this bright and cheery painting. Every time I look at it, it makes me smile. I thought I would honour this art with […]

Art really is in the eye of the beholder

By |July 22nd, 2015|

I came across some old books the other day and found some sketches I had messed around with when I was around 12 or 13 years old. I remember back then experimenting with the human form with my trusty pencils and eraser and knew I always wanted art to be a big part of my life. These pictures […]

Kangaroos part of daily life at our Australian school.

By |February 18th, 2015|

On the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia we get to say hello to resident Kangaroos at my daughters' school every day. In the mornings groups of up to 10 Kangaroos can usually be found on the oval (playing field) feeding on the fresh dew-kissed grass, but sometimes our children have to forego their playground activities because there are so many of them taking up the playing space, lazing around and often with cute little Joeys in their pouch.

Is your office a beautiful mess?

By |February 17th, 2015|

Here’s a fun fact ... I can be a very messy person, especially when I am in the middle of creating new artwork. Everything else just gets thrown to the wayside, paperwork all over the place, items scattered, flowers that have seen better days are left to wilt and die, I really can’t see my desk for all the "stuff" on it.

If you were to plant your seeds of greatness today, what would they be?

By |February 6th, 2015|

Did you know February is observed as “Plant the Seeds of Greatness” Month? Observed by who you ask? I’m guessing anyone who has big dreams and wants to turn them into reality.
